Or pull my hair out. Or rant in a post. Hmm. The 3rd option sounds best which is why I'm here.

Yesterday, my computer got hit by an adware virus. It mimics Windows Defender in how it looks EXCEPT it tells you everything on your computer is a virus. I was able to get rid of it, but now a new problem has arisen.

My computer is not recognizing the new adobe flash player 10. It downloads and claims it is installed, but videos will not play. I've have uninstalled and reinstalled it countless times. Nothing is happening!

So, I called Dell (because it appears to have affected the playback of some videos in WMM--I do other media players on computer but still use WMP as well) and they claimed they couldn't fix it unless I paid a fee. (Either $100+ for a single incident or $200+ for a 3 day incident.) Now, I have had to have codecs reinstalled on WMP before and I wasn't a charged a fee. What is more, I'm still under warranty! But the bastards were trying to convince me otherwise.

This has been a bad week altogether though. The book I ordered from amazon.com hasn't shipped even though it was supposed to be shipped by today. (I even changed the payment method on it to ensure it got shippped. Nada.) Now, in cases where that happened, one is supposed to cancel one's order and reorder the item. Except, the book has gone up in price. So, no way in am I reordering!

And, I missed a day of work. I called to get my schedule on Monday and was told to call back on Tuesday (because there was only 1 person at the front desk and couldn't leave it unmanned). I called late Tuesday afternoon and discovered I was supposed to work the morning shit. (The one time I forget to call on Sunday to get my shifts, of course I get scheduled a day I don't normally work.)

This week feels cursed! The hits just keep coming! (Another is that my insurance is only covering a measley $22 of my dentist bill since he is an out-of-system dentist.)

Oddly, I'm most pissed about the adobe flash player not working like it's supposed to. I love youtube! And who knows when adobe flash player 11 will come out! Plus, it not affects every flash embedded video I want to watch. (Instead of a video, I see white space with a little red in the corner where video ads or video space normally plays on various websites.) I suppose it will cure me of my addiction of youtube, but damn it!!!! It's not fair! (I suppose I can sneak on my parents' computer if I'm real desparate.) (I also have a youtube video downloader.)

Of course, I'll probably keep up the battle with installing the flash player. It has to install properly and WORK one of these times!

In less ranty news, I'm looking very forward to Ed Westwick's Chalet Girl. He's got himself some talented castmates: Felicity Jones, Sophia Bush, Brooke Sheilds, Tamsin Egerton, Bill Nighy. Plus, it's a romantic comedy and the Brits do those quite well (much better than we Americans do, at any rate). Even though it's your typical poor girl meets rich dude Cinderella story, I think it will be good! At any rate, Ed is playing a smily, happy, nice character which will be so refreshing after enduring him being so one-note broody and extremely tiresome as Chuck Bass. (I'm not a Chuck fan but I am still a fan of Ed.) I'm already loving the music from it.

Which is something. I typically don't get excited about new music. But having sampled the movie's soundtrack, I'm fallen in love with nearly all the songs and will buy it when it comes out. I rotate most heavily between 4 songs though: "Bad Company" by This is Freedom, "Upside Down" by Paloma Faith, "Go" by Livingston and "Where We Belong" by Lost Prophets.

I really cannot understand why all of our romantic comedies are so bad nowadays. I think the last good American one I saw stared Ricky Gervais as a dentist... and he's British, so that barely counts.

Ricky G as a dentist? The only image that comes to mind is the dentist from "Little Shop of Horrors." (I just CAN'T envision him playing a normal, sane dentist.)

My week has improved a teensy bit. Amazon.com sent me an email saying the order is still in the mail but I'll receive it between Feb 9-19 due to stock house problems. (Who knew Edith Head was so popular?)

Also, after much plowing about, I've discovered the flash player not working is on adobe and not my computer. When I checked my 'programs and features' link, it SAYS adobe is installed, but it doesn't give an mb size number. So the adobe site is downlaoding a blank for whatever reason. I tried a web fix, but nothing happened. However....I am not one to give up. I'm going to see if I can dowload the flash player from my parents computer, save it my flash drive and then download it onto my computer. (Their flash player works.)

Hahaha, how about a neurotic one? It was Ghost Town, also starring Tea Leoni and Greg Kinnear. I surprisingly enjoyed that movie.
