On another forum, a person was like "you should be happy and proud of the house you were placed in." But then was like "I'm a Ravenclaw and that's the house I wanted to be in." I found myself thinking "Bitch, really. You got in the house you wanted to be in and you're going to preach to me about how I should be happy with Slytherin." Ugh!
Yeah, if JKR wanted us to think more....greyly...about the Slytherins, she wouldn't have spend ALL seven books telling us just how awful the 99% of the house is. Of course, I don't think Gryffindor is as flawless and as perfect as JKR makes it out to be, but it doesn't have the problems that Slytherin does.
Agreed Pottermore isn't that great. It seems more like a gaming site than a HP encyclopedia. It's nowhere near as awesome as the index/epilogue that JRR Tolkien added to the LOTR books. What particularly drives me nuts is that JKR says several times on the site and elswhere "oh, I have all this extra material that never made it into the books" BUT WHERE IT IS? Cuz it sure isn't on that site, even though she said that was the purpose of Pottermore.
I hate to say it, but my respect for JKR has gone WAY down after seeing what Pottermore is. I feel she's just using Pottermore to string fans along rather than give them actual substance.
It took JRRT years to write the epilogue with the tons of back stories, but when he delivered, he delivered. She's makes a big deal out having so much she's going to give us, but then just repackages crumbs. (And she did the same thing with DH. She said she was really going to wrap up the ending because it was the final book, and we definitely know what happened to the characters. And, instead, she backtracks--and publicly admits she backtracked--because she's feeling sentimental and gooey, then geesh, reward the fans for our loyalty and tell us what happened to the characters post-Voldemort.)
